Dmesg command not working

Go to solution Solved by WereCatf,

WSL isn't the same thing as running a full Linux-OS, you're running Windows-kernel and not the Linux-kernel; I very much doubt you'll ever get to use dmesg under WSL.

First of all,I'm a noob when it comes to Linux.I recently installed Linux subsystem in my windows 10(1803). Everything was going good until I tried to use Dmesg commands.I get the following error "read kernel buffer failed:function not implemented". I searched lot of Linux forums but I cant understand what they are saying. Is there any way or work around so that I could use Dmesg commands in wsl?. I tried using kmsg,it doesn't work either.

P.S: using Debian GNU on windows 10 1803

Virtualbox is free and works alright for testing / development. For a while it was pretty fast but I think VMWare has eclipsed it.. Oracle really hasn't done much with it over the years.. regardless it's free and generally well supported.
