When I got a laptop I decided to try and help it out in the cooling department, I put new thermal paste on and then built it a special table with an 80mm fan (which I adapted to USB) built into the bottom right under the intake vent, however the laptops CPU and GPU both get into the high 60s under load and so I was wondering if I could improve this system in any way, (and yes the fan is blowing the right way). Whatever I do I still want the laptop to be portable.

What is actually supposed to go here? Some people put their specs, others put random comments or remarks about themselves or others, and there are a few who put cryptic statements.

Depending on the laptop some will have very restrictive intakes so cutting and installing a meshed opening at the bottom where the fan is can help greatly with airflow. Another would be to use a liquid metal to aid in heat transfer but proper precautions would need to be taken to ensure it doesn't short out.

I wouldn't consider myself sufficiently experienced to put liquid metal on it, plus it's probably quite expensive. I was thinking I could put a seal of some sort on the surface of the table which would prevent air from hitting the bottom of the laptop and just going out the sides, Also it would be nice if I could make the fan go faster since at the moment it runs at a low RPM because of the mere 5 volts provided by the USB port.

If you talking about the external 80mm fan you can get 5V fans or take a 12V supply regulated supply and wire the fan into that.

60-70 degrees on 920xm seems ok to me (i run it on 80+). i also think modding the bottom will help you

In what way would I mod it?
