Will this work?

Go to solution Solved by Lurick,

No but you can buy a MoCA adapter and connect it to your existing router/modem to do it but beyond that you can't add a second modem.

I found a cable in my house. It looks like what a cable box would so I went to make sure and in fact yes, it was the same. I wanted to know if I could put a modem to get wired internet in our living room. We don't want to put cables in the walls to get that. Wishing good luck! Do you know?

A cable box cable. If you can't do anything to help you don't just say that just don't reply .-. Its normally where it say cable in.

Firstly it's called coax. If you don't use the proper terms people tend to get confused. Generally only one cable modem per account/house. You can try to use moca like stated above. Just make sure you put a moca filter on the main cable line coming in to your house.

This looks JUST what I need. One less question is if it works wireless or I have to put wires in the walls. The whole point of this was making it so I don't have to do this

Moca uses the coax in the walls already. One adapter connects to the router while the other one connects to what ever device you want connected. To be clear you need a coax hook up at each location. The moca adapters basically convert coax to Ethernet.
