About Motherboard Fan Headers

They will appear in different names inside the BIOS (say an intake fan plugged in AIO pump header, it will show up under AIO pump in the BIOS), and some might not have a controlable fan curve in there at all and will run at full speed.

For much older stuff and OEM motherboards that is. Reasonably modern motherboards do not have thermistors directly wired to the controller of headers, but all route to the controller without hardcoded logic and rely on software control.

 

i wanted to buy Asus Strix Z370-F motherboard and i have 5 pwm fan .  this motherboard has many fan header like m.2 fan , aio pump , CPU OPT Fan connector(s) etc. if i use this headers as a

case fan , will i face any problem?

Those fan headers would be wired to different thermistors, and thus wouldn't react to ambient temperatures the way case fans are meant to. It could work, if you downloaded some fan control software and tinkered with it, but I'd just stick to traditional case fan headers. I believe that motherboard has enough regular ones anyway. CPU OPT fan should just be a second CPU fan header, so if you have to use that, use it for the fan at the back of the case, as that'd be closest to your CPU cooler.

if i use asus own fan control software for control those fan which is connected to those header , will it run controlled speed ?

Some will, some might not. You have to test yourself
