I am looking to build a PC very soon to play games at 1080p 144fps on high settings, and possibly stream live on Twitch. I live in the US, and my price limit is about equal to my current pcpartpicker list (https://pcpartpicker.com/list/vfG4MZ). I plan to play games like Rainbow Six, PUBG, GTA, CSGO, and others like this. Are there any changes you would make, and can you suggest a good case and an air cpu cooler?

edit: I was looking at the Fractal Design Meshify C, and the Corsair 275R, but otherwise I have no ideas.

Thanks,

Owen

I might drop the NVME drive for a 1080.

Edit: because it will be easy to add one in later. Also something like the cryorig H7 or DRP4 will be great. Maybe an s340 elite?

For cases both the two cases you recommended are fantastic. I know a lot of people love their meshify C

2 ssd is redundant, just get a bigger 960.

do you have an opinion on the 1070? I might go with the plain 1070 just to save a bit of money. Will it still be able to run some games at medium-high settings at 1080p 144fps?

I don't think the 1070 can hit 144hz on PUBG. I'd just go with the 1070ti. Maybe drop a tier on the CPU if you want to save a few $$$$.

so like the 2600x?

edit: thanks for all your help btw

Yeah. Throw an overclock on it if you want the extra frames.

2600x would be the best price to performance.

Save you $100.

Extra cores won't get you too much in games.

Would the 2600x OC be better than the 1700 stock?

Im not sure, but I think it is.

Just use the stock cooler, trust me it works.

Ryzen doesn't need extra cooling.

Would it benefit me playing games while straming in OBS in the background?

I mean, if you want the extra cores you can always overclock the 1700x

It got 12 threads, streaming should enough with 4 threads only.

Most games don't use more than 4 threads.

As for vs 1700, 2600x would perform better in games for its default speed is higher (turbo to 4.2 vs 3.7)

With OC it would be even higher.

I agree with above. Drop one of the ssd's and maybe even drop down to a 2 tb hdd which might save you enough to get the 1080ti even or at least a 1080 and a better cooler for the cpu. That is unless you really think you need that much space right now.

A 6 core/12 thread processor is great for both streaming and multitasking, as well as gaming.  You probably won't utilize the 8c/16t of the 1700/x, but why not when it's $70 less than the 2700

For all purposes, get a 1080ti.  The 2600 is plenty for streaming, gaming and multitasking, get x470 just for the future compatibility and out of the box ryzen+ compatibility.  Added a cheaper ssd, better g-sync montior, power supply, case and make sure you have a (better) mic to go with the headphones, these seem popular for a mic @OGH2020
