Pc/gaming laptops recomendations ??

So I got ahold of some money finally after saving up for quite a while.

I have Around 1,700$

I have more but ill save those on keyboards mice and games etc

And I want to buy a gaming device.

The reason I say device is that Im unsure wether to :

1.Build a pc

2.Buy a gaming laptop

So I came to ask Is it really that big of difference?

I will be doing some tavelling and im kind of afraid how they handle bags at the airport,so I think a laptop would be better to hold in a handbag.

How ever,Ive heard that pc performance is greater than laptops,is that true ?

But,Ill probably never leave the house with a gaming laptop,So dont really need portability ?

As you can tell,Im kind of confused.

So which is better ?

And recomend me a good build/laptop with your choice.

Any help is Appreciated.

Thanks

The one you decide to buy is better.

Hate to say it but he is right . Choose your specifications and then look for some good brands. Because all are great if we factor little things. So " The one you decide to buy is better. "

to be honest, with RAM and GPU prices Gaming laptops are closer in price to their PC counterparts than ever.

the difference is negligible in most instances outside of benchmarks

That really depends on your lifestyle and how mobile you tend to be.

Generally speaking, a gaming desktop is the preferred choice. While the price difference isn’t much these days due to RAM shortages and GPU prices, a desktop is generally more customizable and offers a much easier upgrade path. Cooling performance is also superior as there is a large space to vent out heat and there are much more options of cooling solutions.

A gaming laptop tends to run warmer, be slightly less powerful and have limited upgrade options as the CPU and GPU are soldered to the mainboard. But it is much more portable and current models are inching closer and closer to their desktop counterparts, although as mentioned earlier, they can run warm.

If your machine sits on a desk for most of its life, go with a desktop. If you go mobile often, a laptop may be more suitable

The Workhorse (AMD-powered custom desktop)

The Portable Workstation (Apple MacBook Pro 16" 2021)

SoC: Apple M1 Max (8+2 core CPU w/ 32-core GPU) | RAM: 32GB unified LPDDR5 | Storage: 1TB PCIe Gen4 SSD | OS: macOS Monterey

The Communicator (Apple iPhone 13 Pro)

the answer is get a PC because you can get a much better performance for the same price.

Im also travelling a lot and im usually taking my 8 year old notebook with me that can barely run a few older games, for me this is more then enough because im traveling for business reasons so  have no time to play anyways.

after a while i stopped taking this one with me because the extra weight was not worth the ability to play a game here and there.

Id say buy a PC so you can play well when at home and if you really feel like you need a notebook for traveling you can still buy a mid priced one that runs some basic games.
