I got a new computer on September 2nd of this year, had no issues at all, none what soever, until now. I had my speakers plugged into the "rear" output of my computer, and on Christmas, today, I got a z6a Turtlebeach gaming headset. So I unplugged my Speakers and plugged the headset into "Rear" "C/S" and "Mic in" there was no plugin on my motherboard (where my audio comes from, do not have a separate sound card), for "Front" so I left that one unplugged. After that moment, audio went to hell. My audio on my browsers, skype, and video games all stopped. I thought it was because I hadn't set up my Headset yet, so I went into my sound properties and set up 5.1 audio, as the z6a guide had instructed, but I still had no audio. So I decided to go into my sound devices properties and played with some of the basic settings, like the filters and audio levels. I turned on an "Environment" option called "Room" and discovered something. The only way I can get audio on my computer is if I have any of the "Environment" options turned on. Which is ok, but they give everything a slight echo, which becomes maddening.

After doing that I proceeded through a journey of troubleshooting, I checked my Headphones plugins, all were correct, triple checked, unplugged entirely and then plugged my old speakers back in, thinking the problem was with the headset. Well the problem persisted. If I turn off the "Environment" filter I get no audio from anything, EXCEPT from Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers. The audio works fine on those. I turn on the filter, the audio still works on those two, but on everything else as well, just fine, with the echo from the filter.

I tried reinstalling my audio driver, twice, I had a very tech savy friend of mine walk me through some different ways to try and help, disabling things, changing settings here and there, but none of it did anything and I'm still having my problem.

He thought it might be because of my HDMI cord, that I use for my third monitor, even though it didn't make sense, I unplugged it and restarted my computer, and the problem still persisted. This computer has been fine up until this point and no one I know has any more ideas for me. Please help.

(Here's my motherboard, name copied directly from my tracking order "ASUS P8Z77-V Lk ATX LGA1155 Z77 DDR3 3PCI-E16 2PCI-E1 2PCI SATA3 SLI DVI HDMI DP USB3.0 Motherboard ")

Thanks for your time.

sooooo, you want what? it sounds like your on-board  audio is screwed up, see if you can get a new mobo from Asus. Also try to unplug ALL ur audio stuff, plug ur speakers into the back and put ur headphones in the front port. Another idea is to plug ur headphone into the monitor that has HDMI, because hdmi has audio in the cable too, that is If you monitor has a headphone port.

Also sound cards are cheap, go pick up a crappy one to put ur headphones in, then put your speakers where ever you have them before.

The z6a's are 5.1 audio, they have 4 jacks and a USB to power them, they don't plug into the front of my computer. My mobo is only a few months old, and it seems highly unlikely that the hardware itself is damaged. My tech friend thinks it's some screwed up settings somewhere, but can't think of what.

Also, I literally have no money, $00.00, everything is too expensive for me, that includes a sound card.
