hey guys,

I was looking on the internet looking for an ssd to put in my laptop, suddenly i saw an ad on the site i browse that said 16GB of ram for only $100.

why is it that 16gigs of ddr3 memory cost as much as a 120gig ssd. I know ssd's arent as fast and ram pricing has increased alot lately but then why dident the price on ssd's increase.

Greeting JooZt

They're different types of memory. RAM makers have been selling at a loss recently, people have just been spoiled with the cheap RAM prices over the last year or so and now that the prices are properly coming back up people are complaining about it. But there's no way companies can continue to sell RAM as cheap as they were recently.

It's not expensive; it's just not cheap anymore.
