cpu cooler comparison

superchicken55

ok so here's the deal. I need a good cooler for a lga 1156 motherboard so I can overclock my x3430 but I'm on a tight budget so I went to ebay and found a cooler master hyper 212 led for 23$ USD but I also found this
https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-6mm-Heat-Pipe-Aluminium-LE...

and this looks pretty promising as it has 6 copper heat pipes (vs the 212s 4)
and it looks like it has more fins as well but I don't know if that means better
temperatures. so which should I buy? I'm pretty sure either one of them is better than my current cpu cooler (an Intel stock cooler) , any help is appreciated.

thanks

More surface are is always better for cooling performance. Since that 2nd one doesn't say brand, we can assume its some lesser known Chinese one. Which doesn't mean that much. Fan could be really noise and bad in performance, but thats about it. You can always change fan later.

E: Lets add few things (my bad). The second cooler is for 80-92mm fans. So performance thing might be close rather than better. If you would pick something known, like D9 from Noctua, that would be at same range or better than 212 with much better fan.

the d9 is,from the prices I've seen at least, out of my price range which is ($30.00) and I don't really care about the noise as my computer already sounds like a jet engine I'm just wondering if the Chinese one is worth the risk

and if either one is good enough for overclocking.

It looks like an Arsylid CN-609A-P. I've been looking for benchmarks in the cooler but I'm coming up short on comparisons and reliable data. I'm guessing it performs better than the 212 LED and similarly to but noisier than these alternatives:

Gammax 400: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/hJFPxr/deepcool-cpu-cooler-gammaxx400

Themis Evo: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/rVtCmG/raijintek-cpu-cooler-0p105245

Hans: https://pcpartpicker.com/product/Pn648d/reeven-hans-821-cfm-sleeve-bearing-cpu-cooler-rc-1205

If the mounting hardware is good, it looks similar to and might perform like the Alpenfohn Atlas.
