Gpu magnetic backplates?

Go to solution Solved by NMS,

I use a backplate from V1Tech myself with their magnets. And it's perfectly safe.

BUT! Those magnets don't hold well over screws and WILL slide (caution there!!!). So request two sets of their circular two-sided tape to put it between the magnet/plate and magnet/GPU. Or just get your own two-sided tape and use that.

V1tech mounts there gpu backplate via magnets on the screws of you gpu. I'm just wondering is this safe for the graphics card? Are the magnets not strong enough? Would I be better off using double sided non conductive tape? I just want a backplate but don't want to ruin my gpu.

Graphics card: Asus gtx 1060 3gb

it is perfectly safe otherwise they wouldn't do it...you'd need a much bigger/stronger magnet to affect a graphics cards in any ways...

Weak static magnetic fields are fine. I would go as far as to say stronger ones aren't a problem either, given that HDDs have very strong magnets in them with electronics in close proximity.
