Mainboard Swap prevent driver issues

Heyho,

I´m gonna switch my mainboard from ryzen to x99 soon. Is there a programm that delets all your motherboard drivers so there wont be any problems with my windows after i swapped my Board and CPU Combo?

I am asking this question because there is a tool for this in a GPU Swap scenerio that completly wpies your Video Drivers...

Thanks ;)

Pretty sure we tried to talk you out of the downgrade to X99, but go ahead ;)

On topic:

Windows 8.x and 10 have no problems with changing boards. They'll reconfigure themselves for your new hardware on the first bootup. Sysprep might be what you're looking for otherwise.

Never has been an issue to me. I would just reinstall windows if it bothered me, easier and more reliable.

I always reinstall Windows if I change the motherboard (unless it's an identical board swap), even if it's another motherboard with the same chipset. Always have and probably always will. It's not a major issue reinstalling Windows and it removes any likihood of driver issues.

Stop and think a second, something is more than nothing.

Haha yeah i remember that indeed xDDD. I waited until evening and 30 mins before they closed i went back and got the board for 110 Euros thats like insane for this board. Nevertheless i thought about ur concern and bought the 6950x of a friend of mine for 400 bucks which is a bargain xD. Cant wait to fire it up :) .

Still thanks for all ur advise 9_9

Overclocked 8c/16T CPU that's only 10% slower at stock speeds than a 6950X isn't a potato :P

Yeah but i only got an old GTX 960 as gpu so high refresh rates are not expected. But my problem with ryzen is that it cannot fcking hit 144hz even in League with 250 $ high speed ram is frustrating for that money. You got the 2700x? Is it any better at high refresh rates? I mean yeah a 1080ti pushes hard at 1080p but its a shame that a 300$ CPU cant keep up at 4 GHZ

I have 60Hz displays, just a GTX1060 6GB and the 2700X is mostly for handbrake and vegas pro, so I couldn't tell you how it does :P

Runs everything I need it to at least. Might grab me a 1070Ti soon-ish though now the prices have come down.
