i searched for fx 4170 benchmarks and it needs just mostly minor overclocks to 4.2 ghz for it to sometimes beat i5 4670k ingame

thats not true at all. as you can see in the video you posted,an i3 ivy does bottleneck a gtx 680 in BF multi (but you don`t just go using an i3 with a 680-770 don`t you)

now the thing is a bulldozer FX 4xxx IS slower in games than an i3 ! yes.its slower even than the previous phenom 2 quads ! when you OC it, the gain is about equal to 0 ! couse the bulldozer architecture is bad.weak

ofc now is vishera time.and you need atleast fx 6300 for BF4 multi ,even with a...gtx 650 Ti boost

Definitely your CPU. In many other games, your processor is unlikely to be much of a bottleneck for the 560Ti, but BF is very CPU heavy.

The 560Ti is still a capable card.

Wow I never knew it was that slow! But I'll either be upgrading to an 8320 or an 8350, although I'm not happy with overclocking I know somebody who might be able to for me, if he recommends me to get the 8350 then I will :)

I'd say CPU. I have average fps of 60 with 560Ti and 4770K, settings are low-med.

That's really unbalanced :o

I say a mixture of both, this is my 2500k pushing a GTX 480 at 1080p on high in beta.

if you lowerer all the settings, and someone already told you that with your card you can play multi on med at 60 frames, why to get better gpu when the one you have now its bottlenecked ?

So would the 8350 improve the performance over my 4170 by a lot? (I may of already asked this, sorry if I have)

Should do.

But that 560Ti is not great.

So I should definitely get the 8350 instead of waiting for the i5 for a couple of months? If not longer

By the way everybody i've just ran some tests on battlefield 4 online, which in all fairness i shouldve done at the start but hey ho. My results from the horrific 2-3 mins of play... after the 4 minute load up time showed that my CPU was averaging at about 90% usage, whereas my GPU was averaging at about 60%.... so yer

BF4 was playable when I had a 955BE and a R6950 on low settings, so it may really be either. Did you try updating your drivers? Maybe try upgrading the GPU since quadcores are still sufficient despite showing signs of age.

i play on ultra 1080p with a 965BE @3.8ghz and a 660, almost always above 40fps :)

@op update your drivers with nvidia experience and try closing some background programs, bf4 is a bit cpu heavy

reinstall the game? Try OCing your cpu, if you are OCed put it back to stock. GTA 4 would crash for me if i had my cpu OCed

8350 should be a fantastic upgrade. And it'll run BF4 well... as long as your problem isn't caused by another issue entirely.

I've been playing BF4 on an FX-6300 and it's handled full 64 player servers no problem.
