hello guys. recently I bought 4gb ram of transcend to upgrade my 2gb old ram. when i install new ram it show nothing and sometimes stuck at bios screen. I havr done everything from changing cpu to ddr3 voltages in bios and have yet not made it work. my mobo which is GA-78LMT-S2PT REV 4.1 SUPPORT THIS ddrs3 frequency of 1333mhz and now its not working. on my ram it is written transcend 4g ddr3 1333 sodimm c17 which is I think diffrernt from dim . so any ideas what should I do. I am an apprentice at doing this so is my ram faulty or my motherboard.

my pc specs

amd Athlon 4450e old

250 watts power supply

gt 730 NVidia zotac

GA-78LMT-S2PT REV 4.1

2GB OLD RAM

and also iam planning to upgrade my pc to fx 6300 but I am confused because I have the money to buy fx 6300 but is it better to get more money and buy a new mobo and ryzen which would be better. thanks in advance

Which slots are you using? Make sure you're not plugging the stick mix and match sticks in the configuration for dual channel operation.

Regarding the FX6300, don't even bother. Just save up and get Ryzen. You'll need a new board to use the FX6300 anyways. Plus the FX6300 isn't exactly a powerhouse of a chip. It was just average during its time. Maybe a bit below average depending on who you ask.

First I don't know how you manage to run 4450e with DDR3 before upgrade

I own that processor (well not exact type, but 4050e) and that is AM2+ processor which only support DDR2

So either you are getting scammed or misinformed to get those parts.

No matter what you do it will never boot with DDR3/AM3 platform with DDR3.

Not sure about the RAM issue, but in regards to the upgrade, unless you get a killer deal on FX, just skip it and go for Ryzen, it'll last you much longer.

Food for though, keep an eye out for bundles if you plan on buying new:
