Premiere Pro crashes

Hi,

 

I'm having issues with Premiere Pro on my laptop. My main computer is having issues so I had to use this convertible as a temporary solution. When I first launched Premiere, the preview was purple and pink. I found a solution in the Adobe forums consisting in installing an older version of the drivers, which actually solved this issue.

Now the problem is that Premiere has become unusable: it crashes all the time and the video preview doesn't work properly, I can only hear the audio. I understand that this is far from being a professional editing computer, as it only has a core m5-6Y54 and 8GB of RAM, but this is a very simple project and I'm just adding texts to a 1 minute long video. I also noticed that when I rendered the video (after many crashes and restarts) it took less than 30 seconds to render it, and when I'm using Premiere to edit it, the CPU usage is at around 50%, so is the RAM usage. The GPU usage is very high though as it doesn't get below 87% even when I don't do anything. It gets high as soon as I open the project.

Any idea how I can fix this?

change the gpu settings to do only cpu rendering.

 

I only use gpu rendering when i do final renders and it makes premiere unstable while im actually editing. also set the preview window to the lowest quality.

I tried that. It seemed to work a for a few seconds but now it doesn't. Restarting the app and even the computer didn't help.

That's what I started with and didn't change much.

I would say Adobe products in general.

I'm posting my solution here in case it helps someone: I had to disable H.264 encoding : Preferences > Media > uncheck "Enable accelerated H.264 encoding".
