Hey guys im not 100% sure if this is allowed on here... (sorry mods if its not didn't mean any harm)  but i am thinking about homebrewing my switch

JUST FOR emulation nothing else i still want to play online multiplayer (and in the future pay the 20 dollars a year for online service) i still want to buy games from the eshop and stuff but if i homebrew my switch will it screw up any basic stuff like online and eshop?

Generally modding means losing official OEM online support. Sometimes ways of circumnavigating this to continue using Xbox Live/PSN/Nintendo's Online Service can be achieved but they are risky. Honestly, I recommend buying a 2nd one if you want the best of both worlds.

Someone else can chime in, but I don't know Nintendo's policy on hardware banning vs account banning. This can be important if you have purchases tied to your Online Nintendo account.

I have multiple PSPs, Vitas, original Xboxes and I would like to get a second 3DS for this reason. I enjoy homebrew consoles.

I understand that. I buy everything second hand and am willing to wait for the right deal. Just be aware of the risks.

Right now the Switch homebrew scene is too new to know what Nintendo will do.

I would head over to gbatemp.net and read up on it.
