Ok... so your processor IS SMT capable as its one of the newest chips from AMD. Because of the PSOD (Purple Screen of Death) on your nexted ESXi... my gut tells me it has something to do with BIOS settings... would you mind going into your BIOS and loading the high "performance" settings, most of the motherboards have options like this.... if not just make sure that any setting that says anything related to virtualization or SMT is on.

Woops... nevermind then. Sorry about that brother. VMWare is more oriented to server architectures and does delay sometime to offer support of more mainstream products for standard users!... Having said that... I wonder how will Ryzen deal with VMWare Workstation.... you could try it, the demo is free for 60 days I believe.

Are you using Windows 10 or Windows server? I believe processor resource control isn't a feature in Windows 10 hyper-v and you should not worry about it unless you need it.
