Overclocking display?

My monitor : acer gn246hl

I have just enabled lightboost on my monitor. Then i came across that you can overclock monitors to get more hz ?

I tryed oc'ing my monitor in nvidia controle panel, but i didnt get to go over 144hz.

Anyone else know why ? I disabled lightboost before trying the oc.

What's your current monitor? If it's 60 Hz then don't expect to get 144 Hz out of it... AFAIK monitor overclocking is finnicky and hit or miss. Not every panel can handle it and likely none will handle such a big jump.

Didn't see the "my monitor" line. That's a 144 Hz monitor already, so no need to overclock anything. Can you select 144 Hz from either Windows or the Nvidia Control Panel?

What connector are you using?

Can't read again. It's up to the panel. You're high already so likely you can't go much higher.

The GN246HL is 144Hz.

Overclocking display does not guarantee success. Completely possible and normal that a 144Hz monitor wont go any further.

Correct, it is a 144hz. But i was wondering if i can overclock it ? Saw online some people oc theyr monitors to 180hz. Thats a huge diffrence.
Im using DVI i think, its a bulky white cable, i think its called DVI-X or something. Dual Dvi, cant remember. Im getting 144hz yes.

My 34UM95 is a 60 Hz monitor and the best I got was 61 Hz.

It's possible in Windows display adapter settings, but not guaranteed you will get any improvement at all.
