So looking for recommended software for checking bad blocks/sectors on IDE drives. Too spoiled by SMART now and don't know which ones are reliable these days for old drives. Just messing around with old gear, would prefer free.

CPU: AMD Sempron 2400+ / MOBO: Abit NF7-S2G / GPU: WinFast A180BT 64MB / RAM: Mushkin DDR333 256MBx2 / HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 120GB

I've used GSmartControl and a utility called Disks (forget the actual name) on Linux to check SMART status on a few IDE drives recently, from as old as 1998.  (Interestingly, WIndows doesn't show SMART data in CrystalDiskMark or the Windows version of GSmartControl, although it can still see the drive.)
