Whats the problem?

Today my computers been having some issues. So far its crashed 3 times, and each time it crashes the screen goes yellow with a bunch of uniform vertical lines that alternate in shade. I was wondering if this was a software issue of any kind or if my GPU has finally given out and needs an upgrade.

So far, I've opened up the PC and made sure there were no loose connections, then removed the GPU and put it back in just in case it had come out of its socket in the 5 years of sitting there.

Sounds like your PC is telling you to put it out of its misery...

First try reinstalling any drivers for the gpu that you have, you need to do a clean install rather than a simply reinstall, if that doesn't work and you have an igpu see if it crashes on that, if it does not it would likely be a dying gpu based on the symptoms

This sounds like a GPU vram problem. Which GPU do you have and can you send a picture of the yellow lines on your monitor?

I did a clean install of my graphics drivers, I'll post again if it crashes again, but if it does continue crashing would that mean I need a new GPU or could this potentially be another piece of hardware?

I did some testing and it seems to be a vram overheating issue. Is there any way to solve this?
