Bios flashing

Hello I currently using Asus Z8PE-D12 motherboard, with Intel Xeon x5670 and 32GB rams, and seagate firecuda 1tb hdd and I saw there is bios update for this MB, but its needed to be used in Dos mode, so I installed rufus made bootable usb dos drive and I put my afudos.exe (asus bios update utility) and .rom file inside usb, changed boot order and everything seems ok booted in dos mode and wrote command afudos /iZ8PE.ROM and it throws "Error Out of memory" usb is 16GB, what I doing wrong?

And optional question I installed today W10 Pro x64 on this combo and feels like download speed barely hits 200kb/s (my other pc on same cable hits over 8.9mb/s) driver installation like nvidia takes very long time (I waited over 20 minutes and it shows preparing for install) Thanks for help.

its better to flash using the mobos flash utility :v

Hi from the future, I encountered this same issue on this same motherboard.

For anyone curious, out of all the forums and all the only solution that worked for me was to switch from using a FreeDos bootable drive and making a MSDos one

The error went away and the bios got updated

The software to make the bootable USB is Rufus

 

(Lastly, the motherboard bios download page includes a working version of afudos for the motherboard (older might be incompatible) except the last version (1401) which comes with another tool. The afudos available in the other downloads still works for that last bios)
