Is Mini Displayport reversible like USB C?

Hi, sorry for appearing ignorant in case this is a stupid question. Is there a proper orientation to plug in a Mini Displayport cable like USB 3.0 or is it just like USB C? I can't seem to find it on Google. I am just wondering because i think someone plugged it in the wrong orientation into the port on my surface laptop. I don't have a Mini Displayport cable to verify it.
