Random CMD screen popping up

Unistash

As the title says, recently out of nowhere a CMD screen will pop-up and then disappear even quicker.

How can I find out what this is and resolve it?

Edit:

Running Windows 10 by the way

I have similar experiences. Unfortunately we would have to figure out which application it's associated with. Can you say it happens at predictable intervals? (Startup, starting a specific application?) Or is it seriously random?

I'd say it's pretty random.

I do always have chrome open though.

I usually notice it when watching YT video's on full-screen.

Then again, I could only notice them then because I'm staring at my screen...

Hmm...it's really difficult to say. A poorly coded application would do that. If the user doesn't need to see the pop-up it shouldn't be made visible.

Do you have any bizarre applications installed? Apps that's aren't particularly common? That might be the best place to start.

How often do you see the window? In a given day. ~ time between pop-ups. ~15mins, every couple hours, only once or twice a day.

Not uncommon for malware etc. to mask itself as something else.
Event Viewer may provide some information: Or the Command Prompt....
Focus on narrowing down the circumstances (what, when, where, etc.) relevant to the command window's "pop up" appearence.
Find a pattern, find a common link, takes time and attention. Very good chance that if you find a pattern you will find the solution.
Otherwise, post accordingly.....

// You could also try AdwCleaner and Junkware removal tool. It is likely caused by adware since it is most frequent when browsing. Good luck! ;)
