So I was playing a game today and my PC suddenly froze with a ttrrrrrrr sound and weird artifacts on the screen. I got scared cause this has happened to me before and the result was a dead Graphics Card.

So, I pressed the restart button and nothing happened, power button didn't do anything either. With no option remaining I switched it off using the main switch.

I tried to boot it on and the CPU started but there's no display output, most importantly there was no beep sound when the computer starts.(can't even see the boot screen). So I searched all over the Internet for possible cause of faliure to boot. There were many solutions like unplugging your RAM and see if there's that 2 beep sound.(I did that and my motherboard beeped twiced.) Tried unplugging my Graphics Card and connecting to the onboard graphics (motherboard) and the PC did boot up.

At this point I was pretty sure my GPU was the culprit but I remembered I had an old DDR3 GPU. So I connected that and the computer started up with the normal single beep but didn't display anything...

Here's everything that I have done so far

1. Removed the CMOS battery and reinserted it.

2. Cleared CMOS memory.

3. Swapped graphics cards. (When on Current GPU, PC starts with no beep and no display, swapping old GPU PC starts with the normal beep but still displays nothing)

4. RAM works fine.

TL;DR - PC won't boot after crashing while playing a game. Swapping GPUs doesn't help, PC still boots on onboard graphics.

So I am unable to diagnose what might be wrong here,

1. Is the GPU dead?

2. Is the PCI Express slot bad?

3. Is the PSU dead? Or maybe not able to supply required power?
