A good wireless mouse or keyboard will be the same as their wired counterparts. For example, the Logitech G602 that I have has no noticeable differences in latency compared to my G303. However, super cheap wireless devices can lag occasionally, although it doesn't interrupt gaming too much.

My preference is to get a nice wireless mouse so that the wire doesn't get in the way or catch on things, and get a wired keyboard so I can have LEDs and not worry about battery life.

If I had to recommend a wireless mouse, it's definitely the Logitech G602. It suits both small and large hands with claw or palm grips, has 6 macro buttons, quick dpi adjustment, and will tell you when the batteries start to run low if you have the Logitech mouse software installed. No RGB, sadly.

There is input lag but i know certain logitech ones have very low lag at least for the mouse. For keyboard im not sure but i dont see a point in a wireless keyboard unless your sitting on the couch and doing something on the tv.

To add, gaming wireless mouse tend to have a larger battery or less battery life than the productivity focused wireless mouse, as it forgoes power saving features to achieve not only the best wireless signal connectivity that they can, but also lower latency. A potential downside (depends on your preferences) is that, having a battery inside the mouse adds weight. For some people they don't like a heavier mouse as it increases time to move the mouse and be agile with it, especially if they need to lift the mouse to reposition during play. However, other likes a heavier mouse as they like the feel of something with weight, reduce glide when the mouse is not touched or hold properly.

Personally, I prefer wireless mouse. I am not into competitive gaming, or hardcore gamer, but enjoy FPS games, among other genre, and do play a lot (although I kinda stop playing PC games, due to potato outdated PC, but that is planed to be replaced once prices gets better). I do use my PC for productivity purposes as well, so I like a hybrid mouse. Sadly, there is no such thing on the market.  So I like to go with the closest I can to such mouse, and that is the Logitech MX series, especially like the latest model. It's not perfect, but has a decent sensor, and good switches, while doesn't need aggressive power saving features, allowing me to have a very responsive mouse for gaming, while having good battery thanks to newer more power efficient wireless transfer chips, and a nice size Lithium-Ion battery, while not being overly heavy by a big one. As you can guess, I am also the type of person that like heavier mouses than light ones. I go with wireless, as I cannot stand wire which always pushes the mouse. Braided cable or not, I can't stand when I let go my hand from my mouse to type something, my mouse moves. Annoying if I play a game where I chat, and have the camera move all the way up or down, or start turning as the mouse moved. But, many people don't mind at all, or have a mouse mat (which I don't like due to size constraint, and limits my work space on my desk, as I, many times, like to move away my keyboard and mouse to put stuff on it) which adds enough traction to reduce mouse movement, when the mouse is let go.

As for keyboard, wired. I don't see the point in wireless one. The keyboard is heavy enough and large enough to have it slide from the cable pushing it. The only up side to wireless keyboard, is that you can get the nicer (in my opinion) ones, that look more professional and not "gamery", and gives you a more clean looking desk.
