First of all thanks for the replies.

I tried to install the card on the other slots and in my surprise I couldn't. The DVI port would not play nice with the back of the case. And that's when I realized that the problem is elsewhere.

My card's back is open. That's why it bent the port.

See how it doesn't follow the straight lines.

take the cooler off and put it back on. see if the pcb un-bends.

So recently I moved in a new home and I had my PC shipped to me from my old house today.

I am an idiot apparently. I know I should have taken the graphics card with me but I forgot. So because of the weight, the card bent the socket.

Can I use the second PCI slot at full speed? I can in fact see that it does NOT have all the pins. Will it work at half speed? Is there any noticeable real world performance loss? Maybe I can still use the first PCI normal even though it's bent? Can I, by any means, fix it myself (it won't move when I push it down)?

As long as solder points have been torn you can still use the first slot. No hurt to try, won't damage anything. The second one runs at the same speed unless you put something else into the first (no real world performance loss there).

in my (very very) limited understanding of PCI-E, it might still work. If the pins soldered to the motherboard are the parts that are pulled up (do they still poke all the way through the mobo?) you might be able to fix it with a soldering iron and skill. And if it's just the plastic that's pulled up, you may be able to just push it down all the way, but you might break something on your motherboard if you do that. But it wouldn't hurt to try first, just throw a GPU in there and see if it'll work (there's nothing it could hurt), and also see if it'd be covered under warranty.

edit: and if for some reason you can't fix it or it isn't covered under warranty, you could use one of the other PCIE slots.

Specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen R7 3700X @4.4Ghz, GPU: Gigabyte RX 5700 XT, RAM: 32 GB (2x 8GB Trident Z Royal + 2x 8GB TForce Vulkan Z) @3000Mhz, Motherboard: ASRock B550m Steel Legend, Storage: 1x WD Black 1Tb NVMe (boot) + 1x Samsung 860 QVO 1Tb SSD (storage), Case: Thermaltake Core V21, Cooler: Noctua NH-D15

If you connect the gpu to the second physical x16 slot, it'll run at x8 speeds. For a single 1070 you'll experience no performance degradation from that.

Ok guys I just pushed the Grey metal inside its chasis (if that makes any sense) and the card is fine again. I connected it to the second PCI port with no problem now. Will post again to say if the pc is working fine.
