I have 200 download and 20 upload with a Powerline Adapter but I get huge ping spikes when gaming, It goes from 9 ping to 500 and the game I'm playing usually freezes. I just turn it off and on again and it usually works for a few hours then goes back to lagging again, so I want to try a WiFi Adapter but I'm worried that I wont get the same speeds I had with a powerline adapter since I'm a fair bit away from my Router.

You will get lag spikes as well with a Wi-Fi adapter, especially if you are far away from your router.

Don't you have any way to use a long ethernet cable (they are cheap) and hide it behind the wall skirtings? They usually have holes behind them and you could fit the cable behind it like this:

wifi gaming will always be  laggy you only real solution is get a ethernet cable, any upgrades to your wifi card or modem will be minimal difference for you at best, it also matters though where the servers are that your trrying to connect to. ex if your play a mmorpg and ur in the usa and your trying to play on a server in Australia u will have high ping compared to playing on one of Europe.
