MSI Optix G27C2 27-Inch 1920x1080 VA FREESYNC 144Hz 1ms Curved Widescreen Gaming Monitor. Would this pair well with a gtx 1080??

At that price point you can get this to take advantage of the G-Sync goodness. There are other options but this is one is on sale.

Depends if screen tearing bothers you a lot. If not then go for a cheaper monitor.
