Hi all,

Looking for advice for a new setup with I'm hoping to build a micro ATX PC re-using some parts that I have in my current system and keep it under or around a £500 budget, have a psuedo idea in mind. Would love input from big CS:GO build players and LAN attendees.

(I primarily would have picked the i7-8700k but it didn't show up on PCPartPicker).

So the parts I'm re-using are the Hyper 212 Evo, Samsung 850 Evo 250GB, EVGA SC 1060 6GB whilst combining this with a 144Hz monitor.

  1. Requirements would be to push CS:GO to a push 300+ fps consistently, and whilst streaming/recording.This is a big requirement as I'm competing at high level FaceIt. Not looking to start an argument for why and stuff but this is a biggie and very important.
  2. Micro-ATX would also be preferred. I'm taking this back and forth to university and I would also like the ease of transport to take it to LANs in the future.
  3. Content creation would also be preferred. I'm possibly not looking to stream a whole lot but record mostly to do a lot of video editing with Sony Vegas software. I've added in an extra 2TB disk for saving video files.

My main questions are processors and keeping the budget down primarily. I'm unsure about the necessity of such a high end i7 processor, especially with how this compares to the newly released Ryzen 2. I'm also fairly lost on cases, I want some easy to transport that is fairly cheap, not lavished up with RGB with good cooling and possible upgrades to near-silent fans (also what are good recommendations for these?).

If anyone provide any insight into this I'll greatly appreciate it! :)
