Yes and no. Those are just the ones that are tested by the manufacturer. There are some ram kits that are so good with ryzen that you will have a better chance hitting the rated speed with those kits compared to finding one on the QVL. Ideally you would find one that is both on the QVL and is known to work well with ryzen.

Shouldnt matter too much, no.

 

I've gotten corsair vengeance for both of my ryzen builds.

Buy a branded kit of DDR4 2x4gb 3000MHz. 

 

Make sure it is branded, meaning it has a metal heatsink.

 

This is a good indicator it is a compatible ram kit.

 

Make sure you don't buy the ram that is just a PCB, as they can be generic and not always compatible with some motherboards.

 

Buy this.
