If you could wait until September it'd be ideal because of Z390 and coffee lake 8 cores... so you can have all of all worlds, single thread, multi tasking... I personally like the i7 8700k more but if you'll be really asking plenty from it in productivity and can afford the 7820x it certainly makes its sense.

Why aren't you getting a 16 core 1950X if that's your budget?
