Is it possible to use fastsync on a freesync amd monitor

I have gtx 1060, I got a monitor that is freesync amd, can I use fast sync on it?

Yes. Fastsync is controlled completely at the source, it's not monitor dependant like GSync is, so can work just fine on a FreeSync monitor (which is basically just a standard monitor,a s there's no dedicated hardware for FreeSync)

Ah thank you. Will fast sync work well If the FPS is JUST above 75fps? And is it better at around 100fps If the refresh rate of the monitor is 75hz

Higher FPS should get lower input lag. But it'll work fine with anything above the monitor refresh rate.

What happens if it drops to 60fps? and is it possible to set the hz to 60hz If the game is too intensive

I think it'll default to v sync or tearing. I don't remember for sure which one fast sync chooses.

 

About setting the refresh rate, I don't personally know of any way to do that automatically.

Which one do you think is better? Adaptive or fast?

Adaptive sync refers to something like freesync, which is way better. Not sure if that's what you're asking about though.

I think he's referring to Adaptive V-Sync, not variable refresh rate.

Looks like adaptive v-sync is just enabling v-sync above monitor refresh rate and leaving it off below. Seems worse than fast sync from my first impression.
