Request Help identifying my laptop

Hello LTT Community,

 

I recently picked up a dead laptop from a friend. He only gave me the laptop, no adapter no box, no paperwork and told me that it simply "Won't work." Looked like possible water damage, so I decided to take up this challenge and try to get the bad boy working again. Here is where I run into my problem... I cannot seem to find the specific model of laptop I have anywhere on the Internet.

 

On the back of the laptop I'm given a service tag here are some key identifiers.

Reg Model: P69G

Reg Type No.: P69G001

Service tag: 49HG6F2

MFG Year: 2017

 

I also opened up the laptop and it has a 256gb m.2, 8gb of RAM, and the sticker on the laptop says it has an i5 7th gen processor. Now this is where I get stuck... On one side, the laptop has power button, volume, SD reader and usb port. While the other side has power jack, a USB 3 looking port with what seems to be a displayport logo next to it, an HDMI port, USB 3.0 and audio jack. Everywhere I look, any model of p69G does not have the usb c connector and I also haven't found any with the m.2 and i5 combo. Looking for some help on finding the right laptop page so I can continue troubleshooting the laptop.

I'm afraid not, the ports are all wrong, this has an HDD, and 5th gen core i5... Thanks though

You can type that service tag number into Dell's website to get all sorts of great information.

Why do you suggest that? Wouldn't it be safe in dell's care?

If it is water damaged I wouldn't even bother trying to send it in for warranty. It is unlikely Dell would honor it and you would have to pay shipping to and from.

I meant clean the water damage first or else Dell will not honor it

Aaah I thought you meant to clean the HDD off before shipping it in. That makes sense, thank you
