So a while back, my MacBook Pro 2010 stopped booting to MacOS, and it wouldn't reinstall it. So I performed a dirty install of windows (basically used a flash drive as you would with a desktop) and it went through fine. Almost. There are three issues. One, the headphone jack is dead and has a red light coming out of it (how the hell?), two, the speakers don't work whatever I do. It makes a Mac startup sound, so at least I know that the speakers aren't dead, but there's no reliable way to test whether the headphone jack is working. Three, the trackpad doesn't support the two finger scrolling function. Can anyone give me some insight?

The headphone jack actually supports TOSLINK, which is why you see a red light coming out of it. Based on what you're saying, it sounds like you don't have Bootcamp drivers installed at the moment. Can you let me know what version of Windows you're trying to use, along with the EXACT model of MacBook Pro 2010 you have? This will be a model or part number on the bottom of the laptop, usually beginning with ABC###LL/A or A1394.

I have an A1278 MacBook using windows 10 pro 64bit. I didn't use Bootcamp, which is why I specifically outlined that I did a dirty install. It has been opened, and I put a 64gb SSD in there.

EDIT: Oh, and another thing; the keyboard backlight won't turn on and I have no clue how.

You need bootcamp drivers for Windows to talk to the hardware inside a Mac properly. Unfortunately, Apple has chosen not to support Windows 10 on your 2010 MacBook Pro, so you'll have to fallback to Windows 7 instead. Bootcamp drivers are not required to install Windows itself, but if you want certain hardware to function correctly, Windows needs these drivers to communicate properly. Bare in mind that not all hardware features work without official support from Apple.

aw, damn. It's a decently portable laptop and I was hoping I could be at least somewhat modern on it. I can survive without speakers, but thanks anyway. Is there any way to turn on the keyboard backlight?

You're welcome. I wish I had a better answer, but Apple is quite restrictive when it comes to product support, even though they do tend to support their products longer than other companies. To get the keyboard backlight working you'll need drivers from Apple, or a community-created patch / custom driver, assuming such a thing even exists.
