B250 only works with DDR4.

Edit: Wait, that's not necessarily true.  Let me look into it a bit further on your specific board.

i m not to sure tbh but i dont think i can because the pentium g4560 is only ddr4 isnt it?

The Integrated Memory Controller on the CPU would be the first requirement.  Kaby lake can support DDR3L on some boards.

Most of them are discontinued, and therefore low stock translates to higher prices.  Example, https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B0153DWJ3E/ref=dp_olp_new_mbc?ie=UTF8&condition=new

The simple truth though is that unless you have a board made with DDR3 in mind, it won't work.  I forgot one key thing: DDR3 is 240 pins, DDR4 is 288.  So you definitely will need a DDR3 board.  The chipset may support it, but it won't fit in the DIMM socket.

What CPU are buying? And what GPU?

What's your budget/country for the entire build and what do you need it for?

There's absolutely no reason to buy a G4560 + GT 1030 when the R3 2200G exists, it has roughly the same performance of those for $99

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

If I was inserting my opinion, I would say save up until you buy all three parts at once (MB, memory, CPU).  If you have the g4560 and DDR3 now, then you need an LGA 1151 board that was made with DDR3 sockets.  None of the ASRock B250 boards appear to work here, they're all DDR4-based.  Get a B150 or Z170 board and hope it works.

The other thing to note is that Intel doesn't recommend using that CPU with DDR3, only DDR3L.  You've kind of got a bad combo of parts.

i am thinking of buying that it just depends on what the board is because i fairly want to test out the gt 1030 and my budget is around 170$ aud or something thats after i buy the graphics card anyways

Just buy an R3 2200G  with an ASrock Pro4, and some decent speed memory and you're set and actually have a CPU upgrade path as well.

Since the 2xx chipsets are dead and only go up to a 7700K

The ryzen APU has around the performance of the GT 1030 for less money

If that's the case, I wouldn't do it.  I would get something like @Streetguru suggested and just get an APU for the time being.  You buy the trifecta: MB, memory, and APU at once, and you can get a GPU sometime later if you want.  You're going to get less for your money over the life of the computer if you go with the G4560 you're talking about, and you pretty much are committed to DDR4 at this point.

You need DDR4 no matter what modern platform you buy.

You want an ASrock Pro 4, either the ATX or MATX version, it's probably the best budget AM4 board.

No, it would definitely need DDR4.  You would lose a bit of FPS over a dedicated GPU like the 1030GT.  You could OC the APU a bit to minimize the losses.  Here's an article comparing it.

https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3261-r3-2200g-r5-2400g-review-gaming-benchmarks-vs-gt-1030

Or you pay a bit more and get the R5 2400G which is a bit closer and you get a bit more CPU performance too.

It's not physically compatible with a modern motherboard, so no.  If you try to penny-pinch when you build a new system you will end up paying more in the long run, unless you're getting most of your parts for free.

would the gt 1030 be compatible with most motherboards?
