Hey,

So I decided to buy a new router, ASUS RT-86U.

I've set it up according to my ISP's settings and it's connected to the internet.

However, if I were to change something like my DNS to 1.1.1.1, it disconnects from the internet.

I've contacted Asus, they said apart from helping with setup everything else is an ISP problem.
Contacted ISP,

Thanks for waiting. I've completed the check on your line. The physical connection is fine and the signal for the broadband is stable. At the moment, There are no physical issues that appears to be affecting your line. Sorry Sean, for non spark supplied modem, we could provide details regarding the right set-up. And you've already tried it. If there's any issues with the modem connecting to the internet. We usually refer to the manufacturer of the device.

The range is awesome, I don't have the stability issues where there'd be no internet randomly with my ISP router, it's just WiFi speeds aren't as great as you'd expect for a $400 router hahah.

Please help me, I'm not the smartest with networking

Cheers.
