Laptop keeps restarting randomly

Hi

 

My brothers laptop keeps restarting without warning. This happens rather erratically. Sometimes it'll only happen only once in five days. Other times it'll restart for a couple of days in a row. On average it will restart about every 2 days (my brother's been writing down when it restarts).

 

Sometimes this is windows updating - it'll say configuring - but more often it will just immediately start to boot up again normally. I've done some googling and have unchecked automatically restart in advanced systems settings. although I've only just done this so don't know if its made a difference yet.

 

I also checked the event viewer and found some critical errors called "event 41 kernal - power" which match up with the dates that my brother recorded. Is this error telling me what the problem is or is it just telling me that the computer has unexpectedly restarted at those times?

 

Any help or advice would be appreciated. I'm not sure what I can try next.
