My current rig is-

Intel Pentium dual core e6600 @3.06ghz

2gb ram

Gigabyte g41m combo motherboard

Western digital blue 500gb

Antec case and 500w PSU

Gt 610 gpu

I recently purchased a box at an auction named as computer parts....it had a 980ti from evga, 16gb ram ddr4 2666, 2 psus, and a couple named Intel confidential 4.20ghz

My question is...can I run that confidential cpu in my PC??

I currently play CS 1.6 at 720p and GTA vice city and Minecraft.

I would love to play CS go, GTA 5 and pubg.... considering 980ti is a beast of a GPU...

I HV a budget of $300 suggest me an upgrade

Highly doubtful it will be compatible. You will need to figure out what chips these are to know what board you need to run them with. You can post pictures here of them and we can do our best to help you determine which chip they are. Just guessing, since they say 4.20ghz on them, they are likely 7th Gen chips.

Stock clock matches.

If it really is, you should be able to find a z270 motherboard, a PSU (if those 2 in the box are rubbish) and a case for $300.

the 7700k will blow that E6600 out of the water. From the list you provided, you have everything you need to upgrade your platform too with the except of a motherboard, which you should be able to pick up a decent board for 100$ or so.

I wouldnt use that cooler, would get a decent air cooler, you can slap like a Cryorig H7 or something on there for a good inexpensive tower cooler. All in all, to get that system up and running you would be looking at 200-250$

Probably EVGA, it seems to be in higher tier (

)

For a new system the only thing you need is a motherboard and probably a case, if you want something fresh to look at/have good thermals.

There's significantly more to a PSUs quality than just the efficiency rating, that EVGA one is excellent

Alright.....what Mobo ND SSD ND case should I select.....my budget is about $300

Do you have any requirements when it comes to size? mATX cases are more compact, but can sacrifice features/airflow to achieve their size.
