Continuous data protection Tool

For a while now I am the owner of a QNAP TS-469L and really like it. although the included backuping software is not that great. (Only full backups no incremental or differential backups)
I currently is the included NetBak replicator but it has some flaws, mainly every time my the pc boot it need to check everything. This is not that big of a deal on my own computer as is can handle the load, but on other computers in my house (mainly those laptops with a 100Mbit connection) it slows down the pc to where it is not usable until the syncing is complete. An additional problem is that all new file are copied to the nas, but files deleted from the pc does not always delete those files from the nas.

 

The nice thing about this types of backups is that it is an 1-one-1 copy of my data so wherever I am, when I connect to my nas I have all my data accessable.

 

My question to you is if anybody knows a decent tool (preferably free) that has the possibility to continuously backup my data to my nas without converting it to a unreadable format so I can still access it.
But without the hassle of the extreme long sync on boot and a setting to choose how many previous versions I would like to keep.

A kind of full backup monthly - differential backup weekly and incremental backup continuously.
