Old pc new use?

As a professional computer hoarder, I can assure you there's always another use. Router, NAS, game server, another HTPC for another room (like a bedroom), give it to a family member/friend, etc etc. I have a Pentium iii machine that I use as a music player in my bedroom. xD

I think if you were to upgrade the ram (ddr3 is cheap)  and add quite a bit of storage to it you can turn it into a small File server

It uses DDR2 which will be a little more expensive.

not used. its 6-8$ on ebay for a 2gb stick.

Yea but it's cheap chinese ram. It's probably trash.

nope used Crucial 2GB sticks from east coast.

Oh thats alright then. Just be careful you're not buying crappy stuff. EVGA GTX 950 SC I bought from ebay blasted my pcie lane now it dont work.

If you get some more RAM you could make a cool ghetto NAS.

I was going to do something like that. I've got a fairly large sound system set up in my room. Maybe a summer project.
