i was searching around and discovered this neat OS

https://arkos.io/

they have recently been funded to start it and you  can download it now

To explain it briefly

arkOS is an open-source platform for securely self-hosting your online life. It is designed to help its users take control of their personal data, and to make running a server as easy as using a desktop computer. Built for the Raspberry Pi + other platforms

allowing you to host your websites, email, social networking accounts, cloud services, and many other things from your arkOS node

what to know more ?

So it is a web server designed to run off of a Raspberry Pi...?

not just a web server

many other things too

the idea is that they made it very simple

it also works on other platforms

Ooooh, something for people like me, in the twilight zone between people that can barely use computers and people that can actually assemble an entire computer.

u just explained me perfectly :P

if ur thinking of doing it id wait until its supported on a beaglebone black since its about 3+ times faster than a Raspberry Pi

ArkOS is still in Alpha/beta now

I own a raspberry pi if anyone wants some firsthand opinions of this OS. I didn't mess around with it because another project called google coder did all that I wanted. I then proceeded to jump to full server administration and don't really need something like ark OS at the moment. But I can take a look if desired :).

My rig: 2600k(4.2 GHz) w/ Cooler Master hyper 212+, Gigabyte Z68-UD3H-B3, Powercolor 7870 xt(1100/1500) w/AIO mod,

8GB DDR3 1600, 120GB Kingston HyperX 3K SSD, 1TB Seagate, Antec earthwatts 430, NZXT H2

Verified max overclock, just for kicks: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2609399

Alright, I may not get to it until Thursday because of Christmas and all. But I can do so.
