Good Sub $500 Laptop?? HELP

I'm looking for a good laptop, definitely needs a SSD in it. I can't really find anything under $500. I found THIS open box laptop on Newegg and I could pick up a 256GB SSD for next to nothing. Opinions on that option or is there better??

Would a Chromebook work? They're great for the price and come with really fast storage if you get a good one.

Ideapad 320 is mediocre. Everything is mediocre. Avoid. Same goes to TR200 SSD, also mediocre.

 

Acer Aspire 5 would be my choice. Or go used, Thinkpad T430/T520 are some good examples.
