sharing wifi between computer with ethernet

I currently have 2 desktops where i cannot reach an ethernet cord and i only have 1 wifi card is there a way to use an ethernet cable to share the internet

Why? Those haven't been necessary since gigabit ethernet became a thing.

@OP You'll have to bridge the connections and do some other funkiness to get it all to work but it should work. Look up a tutorial for your version of windows.

I'm assuming money is tight so no extra hardware.  I'm also assuming that you can't connect two computers over a standard ethernet cable, maybe that has changed though.

 

Back 15 years ago I bought some proprietary hardware in an attempt to learn networking.  I couldn't even get them to ping each other.  Later in life I realized that it was because I needed a switch, router, or crossover cable.

Auto MDI-X was added in gigabit ethernet and so crossover cables are no longer necessary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medium-dependent_interface#Auto_MDI-X
