30m network cable?

Depending on the cable it can range from 5mm to about 8-10mm or so but Cat5e is generally around 6mm I would say.

Moving my computer to the back of the house, which is pretty much as far from the router as you can get.

Planning on getting a 30 meter long cable for a cabled connecting instead of wireless.

 

Will such big length slow my connection down or temper with it in any way?

Nope, only when you get to 100m is when you'll have issues.
