I just bought an HP elite book 8540w for normal laptop purposes, but I was looking around and noticed that the laptop does support mxm interchangeable gpu’s.

While I’d love to go around buying all the mxm cards available and testing which ones work, I don’t have that kind of money laying around.

So I’m consulting LTT some of the geekiest computer geeks around to see if we can’t brainstorm theoretical solutions out.

ive seen a couple videos of a guy upgrading his 8540w with mxm cards and most of them don’t work. I personally think it’s due to power restrictions.
