Go to solution Solved by minervx,

if you use 60hz, ryzen 5 2600 will be more than enough.  there's no need to spend $200 for a gaming cpu if youre only using 60 hz

Go for the i7 8700K, it will be a worthwhile investment because of the better clocks and overclocking potential in the future.

He didn't even mention his use case.

If someone asked if they should buy a 40 piece drum kit, without knowing anything about their musical endeavors, I wouldn't know what to say.

a pentium g4560 can handle schoolwork.

for gaming: what is the refresh rate of your monitor.

if you have a 100+ hz monitor, 8700k is great

if you only use a 60 hz monitor, 8700k is a waste

I will use 60hz, but I'm interesting in i7-8700 (non k),

or I was also looking for AMD ryzen 5 2600x, which one do you recommend?

a gtx 1080 is good, but only if you're using a 1440p or 4k monitor.

16 gb ram won't do much for gaming.  $40 rgb fans have me convinced youre just picking the most expensive parts on each list thinking that more numbers is better.

if you're going to invest in something, it should be a monitor.  either 144 hz if you like fast competitive games.  or a 4k ips monitor if you like atmosphere and visuals.  there's no point in having high-end processors if you cant physically see the benefits of it.

Oh that was wrong list, I was thinking to buy gtx 1070, about cpu cooler, I decided for this one, because it has 160.000 hours lifetime, hyper 212 evo has only 40.000.
