premixed coolants or not?

im thinking of watercooling some servers in a earlier post so just a question would you buy premix coolants or would you mix your own, if so how long have you ran it for? what chemicals need to go in what would you recomend?

thanks

It mostly depends how often you will be changing your coolant. If you will be topping up/ changing coolant often you might as well go with distilled water.

If it's not that easy to get distilled water where you live coolant will be the better option.

You need to add anti-corrosive and a biocide to distilled water if you do use it.

Performance being measured in temps or durability?

You may find that pre-mixed coolants last longer as they are mixed for you but if you add the correct things to your loop the water should last the same if not longer than coolant. It's just that adding stuff to it is more "fiddly".

Temp-wise they will perform roughly the same depending on the coolant.

No. Get distilled if you can but de-ionised can be used. You just need to keep an eye on your loop.

And you shouldn't watercool servers. Air cooling is far more reliable.

You aren't listening. Everyone has told you to go air cooling, but you insist on a loop. Somehow it's stuck in your head that all air cooling is loud, when it isn't. Grab some Noctuas and try to make a loud rig, you can't.

Is this your first time water cooling? If so I would get a pre-mixed coolant as its already made for you just pour and go. Some come in a clear version as well. Also good luck finding a water block that will fit in a 1U server.

Why would you buy something that is designed to be in an air conditioned room at around 23c and have a very high air flow through it if you dont want something loud? Why not build a full tower system?
