Why aren't you getting an R5 1600?

Aren't 1060s still overpriced? I wouldn't exactly recommend the 3GB model, just save some cash on a 1050ti, it'll still be fine for 1080p

Pick your upgrade, I would probably just grab an 8 core CPU for now, maybe a better X470 motherboard which comes out tomorrow.

You can always add an SSD later if it prevents you from getting an 8 core CPU.

Use ca.pcpartpicker.com.

I would suggest using the i5-8400 instead of the i3-8350K. It comes with a stock cooler so there is no need for the Hyper 212 LED. The i5 will result in a more powerful system at a lower cost.

If you stick with the i3-8350K you will need to get a z370 motherboard should you wish to overclock.

I would suggest Corsair CX450 (2017) instead of the MasterWatt psu.

Western Digital WDS500G2B0A or Crucial CT500MX500SSD1 are slightly less expensive than the UV400.

I would suggest getting a 2x4GB memory kit to take advantage of the small performance benefit of dual channel memory operation.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.

Ok so you just told me that the Masterbox is a hot case and you wouldn't recommend it, why are you recommending it now. He could use an SSD and a HDD/Hybrid rather than just one small, slow 1tb HDD. The Masterwatt PSU is good but the wattage is WAY too much, even a high end 8700K/1080ti build only draws around 460W so they're the only type of machine that REALLY need a 550W PSU. 1050ti's are terrible in comparison to 1060's.

The Q300L is an entirely different case than the Masterbox 3/5 Lite, it has mesh panels for actual airflow.

A 1050ti has plenty of performance for 1080p gaming and costs half of what a 1060 6GB costs, it's basically the best option while GPU pricing is insane.

You still have no idea what you're talking about with PSUs.

It costs half as much as the 1060 which is why I tend to recommend it right now. You're still going to be getting 60fps at medium-high settings at 1080p in AAA games. So save 50% on the price and live without ultra graphical settings.

Normally you'd want an RX 570 instead, but they're horribly overpriced as well.

You do know a PC is only going to draw the power it needs for a certain activity right? They'll draw about the same power at idle. They're both 80+ bronze.

Yeah I just realised I got the 80+ rating wrong, no sleep + no coffee = you end up getting shit confused due to decreased cognotive function as your body tries to save energy.

no overclocking without a z370 board. but don't bother with an 8350k, you're far better off with an 8400/1600/2600. $1250 before or after taxes?
