Hi

I have come to the decisions on the parts that I would like for my new build but I want to double check everything is OK. Here is the part list https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/RRDV7W  there are two things I want to ask 1. Is the cooler I picked a good choice and 2. Should I wait for the Ryzen 2700 instead of the non k 8700 or even the 1800 I know it's not out yet and we don't know the proper benchmarks and stuff but I just want an opinion. I already have 2133 DDR4 16gb should I upgrade this as well to faster ram?

I will be having this build for productivity and gaming with VR later on down the road.

Many thanks

Edit: I have two hdds that I will use for storage won't just be the ssd

I also have a case :)

Got any questions about my system or peripherals? Feel free to tag me (@bellabichon) and I'll be happy to give you my two cents.

PSA: Posting a PCPartPicker list with no explanation isn't helpful for first-time builders :)

If you want to wait for Ryzen 2 then sure, since reviews are only 2 days away. I do personally doubt that it'll beat the 8700 in gaming performance though.

I would suggest to get this PSU instead, it's higher wattage and a bit quieter for cheaper.

Other than that not much I would change. 2133 MHz RAM is fine.

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

Ye, seems okay to me. But you should consider getting a non-z motherboard (maybe h370) for that cpu as it is a non-K version. If you do not mind waiting couple of days wait for the ryzen benchmarks. What is the purpose of this PC? That cooler seems a little bit overpriced. For the same price you can get be quite dark rock pro 3 which will perform better.

EDIT: i forgot about the ram. Ye try it. You can buy better ram later.

The be quite was my second choice but heard good things about this cooler it's for gaming and productivity. And I'll have a look at the motherboards thanks.

Looks good. You need a case. Some braided Cables might look nice since you have a fully modular PSU. Goodluck and happy building.

Yeah want to get some white ones to match my theme thanks.

Thanks I probably will be building it in the winter when ive saved enough but this is the build that am set on. By that time prices might have changed so will follow the new Ryzen launch closely

If you aren't building until then I suggest you scrap this list entirely and wait. Intel might launch new CPUs by then, GPU prices might stabilize, new GPUs might be launched by then, and we might have new SSDs. Planning a parts list now isn't gonna be super useful if you aren't gonna build the thing for half a year, considering how quickly the electronics industry moves.

Corsair RM650x and SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 650 Gold are less expensive and at least as good or better.

SeaSonic FOCUS Plus 550 Gold is a perfectly good choice and even less expensive.

CRYORIG H7 would save some more unless you really want the RGB.

Faster memory would help a bit, but not really enough to justify the added cost.

I would wait the few days just to see how Ryzen 2xxx benchmarks.

80+ ratings certify electrical efficiency. Not quality.
