1. Do you know what screen tearing looks like? 2. Is V sync/Gsync on? 3. I said can cause its different for everyone, i dont know about you but i would rather be safe

Yes I do, I experience it other games if I drop below about 80FPS. No I turn of vsync and I don't have a G-sync monitor. Yes I understand your concern and it is very system and setting dependant.

http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-8400-vs-AMD-Ryzen-5-1600/3939vs3919

8400 is better im not denying it but he can save way more going with the APU and getting extremely similar fps and a higher storage SSD or a m.2 and HDD if he wanted to.

If OP would like to Ryzen, then waiting another 3 days would be a better option for Zen 2 to come out. The slight performance deficit Ryzen has to intel in CPU bound games will be closed further.

I agree with waiting otherwise a APU is a very good option

The APU is a bit redundant if he is getting a GPU, so Zen 2 is more likely the way to go. Unless the lower tier ryzen cpus are desired, such as the 1500x etc, then the apu fills that gap i guess?
