Hey everyone, long time lurker, first time poster.

Currently having issues with my new build:

- ASUS PRIME B350M-A/CSM [Latest Bios from site]

- Ryzen 5 2400G [Just using stock cooler for now]

- Corsair Veangence LPX DDR4 2666MHz 8Gb Kit [2x4Gb]

- ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 DUAL 6Gb OC version

- Windows 10 x64 [Trying both Home and Pro]

- Corsair CS550M - 550 W Power Supply

Windows installs fine with and without a product key [making sure I'm installing in UEFI mode], and other drivers install no problem. In my BIOS, I have the primary video output set to PCIE, and am locked at 800x600 without the drivers. When I attempt to install any NVIDIA graphics drivers [I've tried several from both the ASUS and NVIDIA site] the installer makes a bit of progress, and then my screen goes black. The GPU is hooked up to an ASUS gaming monitor via DVI-D. I've done the updates before on my older computer, and I know it's supposed to go down for a bit while it gets the new drivers in place, but this one never comes back up. I've tried turning it off immediately and even leaving it for up to an hour, nothing. After resetting I try to boot windows again without changing any BIOS settings, and it goes back to a black screen. I can go into the BIOS and change the primary video to IGFX, and get windows to boot up fine. Running the same driver install shows that all the options I ticked installed just fine, but when I right click and try to go into NVIDIA Control Panel, a box pops up saying "You are not currently using a display attached to an NVIDIA GPU.

So that's where I'm at. I've been racking my brain over this one for a good two days. I tried using the search bar here and nothing really came up sounding like mine. I've tried the google-fu and it seems like this a pretty typical problem dating well back, but after trying everything I saw as a solution, I'm back to square one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Why did you buy an APU when you were getting a dedicated video card?

uninstall driver, try ur driver that comes with ur disc or a old driver first,   if those dont work aswell might be a dead on arrival gpu

This.

The GPU might not even be completely dead, just faulty. If you can RMA it, I would give that a try.

Unfortunately I don't have any Disc Drive around at all, so no luck there. Thanks though!

I bought the APU first a month or so back, expecting that I'd never get a GPU realistically with the prices at the time. I saw this one go down to like $330, so I jumped on it. I think I'm past the return date at my Fry's to take it back

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'd have to go through Newegg, anyone ever deal with their return process? Am I in for a wait?

download one from another device , or using igpu   go to legacy drivers and search an older one :v

Thanks. I've tried almost every link from the NVIDIA page, and all of the links from the ASUS product page. Do you think legacy drivers would work? I wouldn't even know where to start looking at those. Yeah, just tried installing 388.00 just in case, and when I switch back to PCIE in the BIOS, it goes right back to black screen after the windows 10 boot [spinning dots].

I'm sure it doesn't mean much, but the GPU's fans do spin up when I'm in IGFX mode and I've never seen the red light on the 6-Pin power connector. A lot of posts on other sites are saying it might be people's PSUs. But my build on PCPartPicker is hovering around 275W, so having a 550 W couldn't be an issue, could it?

EDIT: Welp, that's probably the nail in the coffin. Plugged in my old ASUS GTX 760 into the build viola, it works like a charm. So I'm assuming the Graphics Card has been DOA this whole time. So is it right to assume that the GPU wasn't outputting regardless of the BIOS settings, and that the DVI-D was being powered by the mobo? I just don't understand why the fans would spin up on the GPU if it wasn't working...
